Each of our vehicles have passenger liability
policies of R20 million. In addition, should
we have an accident during a trip or a medical
emergency that requires immediate evacuation,
Safari Lodge Shuttle has a policy with Netcare
911 to evacuate patients by helicopter to
the nearest health facility equipped to
deal with the emergency.

for each vehicle that provides up to
R20 million in Passenger Liability cover.

 |
| How
much luggage can I bring? |
While we provide for ample luggage space
in the trailer, we do recommend that you
travel light especially if travelling to
the bush. You will not need your stilettos,
sequined gowns and tiaras. Leave these at
home and bring your hiking boots, jeans
and mosquito repellent instead.
|
 |
| Can
you provide a qualified driver-guide? |
We use drivers and driver-guides on our
trips. All our drivers have PDP’s (Professional
Driving Permits) and are highly capable.
They will be able to give you an insight
into the areas you travel through but if
you require a guide, we can cater for this
as well.
Should your group require a foreign language
guide we can also accommodate you but this
may cost a little extra. Please contact
us.

 |
| Do
I pay for on-board refreshments? |
No. These are provided free of charge.
|
 |
| Do
I need visas? |
Please check with your travel agent or the
South African Consulate/Embassy in your
country. Please
note: We do not arrange visas. We
can put you in touch with a travel agent
if you require assistance in this area.
|
 |
| Do
I need to take anti-Malaria medication? |
If travelling to a high risk area you will
need to take anti-malaria medication at
least 2 weeks prior to you arrival in South
Africa / our departure date into the malaria
area.
We do not
recommend that you travel with toddlers
to malaria areas for your holiday. They
are most at risk of infection.
While most of South Africa’s National and
Private game reserves are malaria free,
the Kruger National
Park and other reserves neighbouring
the eastern coast
are not malaria free. Therefore,
you should consult your travel agent for
accurate information regarding the malaria
situation in the area you’re planning to
visit.
Once you have established this, you should
visit you GP or nearest Tropical Diseases
Centre for information regarding the medication
you need to take and the precautions to
be followed.
|
 |
| Do
you travel overnight? |
To ensure safety
and avoid driver fatigue during our trips,
we prefer not to travel from 19h30 to 05h30.
Many of the rural roads in South Africa
are not fenced off from villages and farm
areas. Domestic and farm animals are frequently
encountered on these roads. Villagers also
make use of these roadsides. These factors
and reduced visibility make travelling at
night potentially dangerous and we therefore
prefer to not travel in the dark.
Please book you flights accordingly to avoid
night travel. See our Services
for estimated travel times.
|
 |
| Do
you cater for children? |
Children under 3 years travel for free and
we will provide a car seat for them on the
trip. Please be sure to notify us accordingly.
Children over the age of 3 are charged the
full adult rate. |
 |
| Can
we eat in the vehicles? |
Yes, but we do ask that you be
considerate. Our vehicles are used
for tourism and we strive to keep them and
the interior clean and tidy for the following
group. Please avoid eating crisps, pies,
chocolates, chewing gum and other foods
that are likely to make a mess and dirty
the seats and carpeting inside the vehicle.
You may find yourself billed for a valet
service.
|
 |
| Do
you arrange accommodation if required on
a long distance trip? |
We can recommend accommodation on route
but we do not book on your behalf. If a
trip necessitates an overnight stay we will
notify you of this when you make your booking.
